Epilepsy

Abstract
Epilepsy has abnormal synchronized electrical activity in the brain. This may be a manifestation of an underlying central nervous system disease.
Preoperative evaluation of patient with a epilepsy should know the cause and type of activity and what drugs are being given.
We experienced a patient with a tonic-clonic seizure(Grand Mal) and mandibular symphysis fracture. Grand mal epilepsy is a generalized and continuous. It is a medical emergency, as adequate ventilation and oxygenation are impossible, and death is inevitable if treatment is not provided. The priority of treatment is establishing the airway and administrating the oxygen. Management of anesthesia in the patient with a epilepsy must include the impact of anticonvulsant drugs on organ function, coagulation, and response to anesthetic drugs.
